Some people prefer to shoot first and ask questions later, but if you like it the other way round, here's our FAQ

  • How old do you have to be to play?

Because of the nature of the game and size of the equipment, Battlestar Laser is not suitable for children under the age of 7 and children under the age of 10 must be signed into the venue by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.

  • We take your health seriously

Battlestar Laser is completely safe; The equipment uses low powered infrared technology, which is a safe invisible light, and low power lasers. The lasers that the Battlestar Laser guns use are graded as Class-II lasers and are completely harmless to humans.

Players are briefed on the safety rules, and Battlestar Laser staff members are on hand to supervise the games.

We consider Battlestar Laser to be a low risk physical game but as such there are inherent risks always associated with physical activity and having fun together. These include being exposed to physical activity, tripping, falling and bumping into fixed objects and other players.

Battlestar Laser has taken every reasonable step to control these risks through the expert design, maintenance and operation of the facility but due to the nature of the game and any the nature of physical activity it is impossible to eliminate such risks completely.

Any parents who are concerned about any particular health issues related to their children, particularly with our use of an atmospheric sound system, strobe lighting or smoke effects, are urged to consult with a member of the Battlestar Laser team for advice and guidance.

  • How long does each session last?

One session lasts approximately 30 minutes. This consists of your pre-game briefing/instruction, kitting-up and 15 minute game in the arena. Each additional game does not require the briefing.

  • How many players can play at any one time?

The Battlestar Laser arena can accommodates a maximum of 20 players per game. Although you need a minimum of two players to play, if you were thinking of coming along by yourself we will try to fit you in with other groups.

  • Do I need to wear any specific clothing or footwear?

Sensible footwear – e.g. no high heeled shoes or flip-flops. Apart from that, dark clothes are better. We use ultraviolet light so anything white will make you a glowing target!

  • Can I get something to eat and drink?

We have a licensed bar and snacks available.

  • Can you supply a buffet or party food?

We can supply a buffet if you have eight or more people in your group. For more information, visit the 'contact us' page and get in touch.

  • Can I turn up without booking?

Although you can just turn up and play, we cannot guarantee places unless you pre-book.

Booking in advance, especially on weekends, is essential to guarantee that we can fit you in. We always recommend that you give us a quick call and see what times we have available.

The last thing we want is that you arrive without booking and then get turned away.

You can book online or by phone. We ask all players to arrive at least 30 minutes before their start time to allow us to keep things running smoothly for everyone.

  • Is the deposit refundable?

As part of our deposit policy, any money paid prior to your booking is non-refundable.
